What am I doing here actually ?
Just in case you would think this is just another expensive holiday: I am working at ATR (Advanced Telecommunications Research institute), doing part of my PhD. I’ll be here until 18 august. I’m implementing this idea of “sound sculpting” - literally editing/performing sound through sculpting/claying handmotions. ATR is in Seika-cho, near Nara and Kyoto. I live about 5 minutes (by scooter !) from ATR.
Bottomline
Japan is wonderful. I am glad I have the opportunity to experience the immensity of its history. Sounds dramatic, but it feels often like that.
